Google Slides: Purpose and Use
Microsoft's PowerPoint application is the most popular choice when creating presentations. However, did you know that Google Slides can be used to create free online presentations? Google Slides can be utilized without the requirement for installation, in contrast to Microsoft PowerPoint, which demands users install offline (which is also a paid for service).
The availability of Google Suite (a component of Google
Slides) seeks to maximize users' ability to collaborate on jobs and projects
with the team more quickly and instantaneously from any location. From a
variety of gadgets, including computers, laptops, smartphones, and tablets,
users can access Google Slides. View the complete evaluation of Google Slides,
including all of its features and advantages, below.
Google Slide
The Google Office product suite includes the online presentation tool Google Slides, which is owned by Google. Since 2006, Google Slides has been made available to the public via Google Drive. Along with Google Slides, other Google Suite products like Google Docs, Google Sheets, and Google Forms are all free to use. Google Workspace also incorporates everything for business requirements like extra storage and access to a more comprehensive platform.
According to its history, Google Slides was created on April 17, 2007, as a result of the purchase of many businesses, including Tonic System. Later, Google also purchased DocVerse in March 2010. Google repurchased QuickOffice in June 2012. Google Presentations became known as Google Slides in October 2012 after changing its name.
Google Slides' main goal is to facilitate real-time collaboration between teams and users as they create presentations online. Users can also view the revision history for any change made to a slide, including additions, edits, and deletions. Users can also grant access to additional users, allowing them to edit or perform activities as needed for presentations.
Today's
most widely used browsers, including Internet Explorer, Microsoft Edge, Google
Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, and Apple Safari, all support accessing Google Slides.
Google Slides can be accessed by users through Google Drive or the Google
Slides page. Microsoft PowerPoint document types are also supported by Google
Slides, saving customers the trouble of having to move between platforms.
Function
1. Anyplace and at any time, present
Google's seamless integration makes it simple for users to produce presentations at any time and from any location. Access to Google Slides and other Google Suite products is possible on a variety of platforms, including web browsers, Android, iOS, and Chrome OS. Users can use Chrome OS even without an internet connection and offline.
For a long
time, the author has used Google Slides to create assignments for campus
presentations and to allow lecturers to view and assess them in real-time.
Google Slides also eliminates the need for users to carry a USB drive to school
or work.
2. Able to work with the group
Users have the option of working in teams to create presentations, as was previously noted. Users are permitted to share documents with up to 50,000 other users according to Google Drive's own regulations. Of course, working with 2 to 10s of people rather than up to 50,000 users is extremely uncommon.
The production of presentation documents, where users can add or update other other's presentations, will be sped up as a result of this collaboration. Users can also view each user's most recent revision history in real-time.
3. Greater support for cloud storage
With 15 GB per person, Google Drive serves as the primary storage for Google Slides. Users have more freedom to save presentation files and other types of documents with that much storage, of course. Users can subscribe to a larger package for a price starting at Rp. 26,900 per month if they believe that it is lacking (for 100 GB).
Users can
also use Dropbox, which is connected with Google Slides, Google Docs, and
Google Sheets, if they want a free option.
